    Hi,

I'm heading to Hispaniola in December for about 2 - 3 weeks. The main destination will be Haiti, with some DR thrown in for flavor (all traveling, no work or anything).

I've got everything LP puts out on Haiti as of right now (which is pretty much just the downloadable chapter from Caribbean Islands). It's somewhat informative, but I was wondering if anyone here has any more information to put out. Just general stuff - recommended places to see, etc. My main interest is culture, food, and religious practice. I wouldn't mind a little beach time as well, but that's secondary.

Also, I'd love to pick up some Creole before I go - if anybody has any recommended resources (books, websites, etc.), I'd love to get that going.

Oh, yeah, I'm a male traveler with one (male) companion on a medium budget. I don't mind spending money on anything that'll be an interesting or new experience, but I hate spending much money on accommodation and I don't mind long bus rides.

    Thanks in advance, everybody!

If you are in PauP, check out the Marché de Fer...
Also, try to contact St. Joesph's home for boys, either to stay a night or two (It's a home for boys/guest house), or to catch a dnace performance.

Also, these guys are pretty amazing:
