    Hey guys,

This is maybe a strange question, but where in South America can I get Mexican food, short of going to Mexico? Or, which countries have food which is similar to Mexican cooking?
I have a craving for that kind of stuff, and I'm sorry to say there are no Mexican restaurants of any kind in Suriname :(
Haha, I really shouldn't be thinking about this now, because I forgot to bring a lunch today, and I'm starving!

Please, somebody give me some tips, I'm desparate!

Well, marginal is probably better than none at all!
Thanks for the tip, at least now I know I can get it somewhere!

If you get up to Panama there's a few Mexican places, some are actually pretty authentic - I just heard of a newish one, run by a Mexican with a Mexican chef call Sol Azteca, going to have to try it out as I love Mex cuisine...
    Cheers

Hi, You should go for the local cuisine as previous poster said. however, in Buenos Aires last January I had some nice mexican food in a restaurant named after Frida Kahlo

Be brave, go for the local food!! Without question, that is what each country does best and you know what they say; 'variety is the spice of life'. Seriously though, one of my favourite things about travelling is trying strange and wonderful foods in strange and wonderful places :)

Ecuador, Colombia and Peru for sure-the big cities always have Mexican style places.
However having spent months at at time living in Mexico I have to say what's on offer is generally marginal fare.
