   Hi,

   I am trying to research the cost of living in fiji. I plan on staying in Viti Levu then move on to the Yasawa Islands for a total of 14 days or so. I need help in finding affordable accomodation, there will be 3 of us and will want to stay on the beachfront or as close to as possible. We will be travelling for a year having spent 4-5 mths in Thailand and do not want to spend too much cash there as we will be going on to sydney from there and staying in Australia for another 5mths. Does anyone reccommend anywere from previous?? What were the prices like??

   Also, how long should we spend in Viti Levu before moving on to the Islands???

   Help is needed and will be appreciated!!

   I was in Fiji back in March of '04. I stayed at Ocotpus Resort on Waya Island in the Yasawa group. It was exactly what you were looking for. Cheap accomodations on the beach, great food, and relaxing. There are no roads and there is nothing there but the resort. I loved it. If you are looking for night life then go else where. From my understanding they have added more rooms and and a swimming pool. Not sure if this would take away from the experience but worth checking out none the less. Brent
