    Hello All,

I'm really wanting to learn some spanish, but can't decide on which country from which to learn it. I was thinkin' good o'l Mexico, but friends tell me that I should just learn it here in the states from a Spanish Teacher (Spaniard, not the language) or go to Spain. I can't afford Spain, and Texas North Dakota doesn't get many Spaniards.....thoughts recommendations suggestions?

    Hi,
You can't learn Spanish fluently if you don't live with Spanish speaking people. I really recommend going to Latin America if you can't afford Spain. In Mexico they speak very fast so you might have problems in the beginning understanding them. I got to know some people from Honduras, Mexiko, Peru and Ecuador and the one from Ecuador I could understand best. But they will all slow down speaking if you ask them and they are all very patient when you try to talk Wink
I'm in Barcelona, right now, studying spanish as well, and can only recommend going into a Spanish speaking country to learn it.

HI there! this may help.... My mum used to be one of those volunteers overseas in Costa Rica. She wanted to learn Spanish and decided to go to work abroad. First she attended a Tesol course and after a few weeks she already passed her exam! She worked in Costa Rica for a year and improved her Spanish so fast and speaks it fluently at the moment.
Because she speaks it fluently now, we thought it would be nice to buy one of the amazing Buenos Aires apartments. It's a really great place to spend your holidays in. Till now I only went with my parents, because I can't understand a word of the language, but I planned to learn Spanish and spend at least a month there with my best friends!
