   I'm planning on heading to the west coast directly from the San Salvador airport next month.

   Does anyone know about transportation from the airport to La Libertad or nearby towns? Is there a bus? Are taxis an option?

   One option I thought of is that I could book a room ahead of time and arrange airport pickup through the hostel/hotel. Any recommendations for budget, clean, on-the-beach lodging in that area?

   There are lots of hotels, yes. But are you going to surf? Because if you're not, there is nothing there for you to do really, except escape from half feral dogs and walk along the decrepit pier. The beach is actually a little way from La Libertad, as I remember.
