My girlfriend and I will spend three weeks in Costa Rica starting in mid August. I am trying to sketch out a rough plan for what to see and where to stay. We want to see the best of Costa Rica - rainforests, wildlife, volcanoes - and have a few days to relax at nice beaches on both coasts. We would like to minimize the time spent on buses moving back and forth across the country. We are interested in budget travel with several days of splurging on some good tours. Can anyone sketch out a list of great places to see/stay that will take us around the country in a counterclockwise loop in three weeks and end up back in San Jose? During the trip, we would like to do some snorkeling, white water rafting, canoeing down a quiet river to observe wildlife, and sailing – any recommendations on the best places for these four activities?
Muchas gracias!!
