    Hi,

I will be travelling to Turkey sometime mid year 2007, or thereabouts, and would like to know what I'd have to know about Turkiye. I have no clues about this country, nor what they language they speak. And how the Lira or whatever monetary system they use. I'm so ignorant where Turkiye is concerned. I should be in Istanbul sometime august-sept. and would appreciate some knowledge of it.. like where's the best cheapest place to be in, where to go, what to speak (do they speak english or french or neither)... what are they like..etc

Would appreciate some facts and advice, as I will be going there as a student.

    Thank you in advance

Hi Im new to this site but I have been to turkey and the place is fabulous, people are as firendly as can be and there is allot to see, if I have any advice it would be to grab yourself a lonely planet, learn the basics of the language because it's a whole lot more fun even when your just making an attempt at the language. Dont put to much effort into finding accomadation because its real easy to get around once your their, and if nothing else then head around the west coast and check out the amazing scenery. Goreme in capadocia is also a great place to check out!

Im Jelous as hell Turkey is one of my favourite places on earth
How long are you going for, 3 - 4 weeks is a good amount of time to have a real good look around.
