   Hi Everyone,

   I am leaving for East Africa this week and I am just wondering about dress codes for women. I have heard that it is best to wear skirts out of respect for the people in these countries... does anyone have any experiences?

   once you are conservatively dressed you should be okay, whether it is a long skirt or trousers, if possible have long sleeved shirts or at least no bare shoulders or upper legs..... if you have room in your backpack bring a shawl or scarf ( or pick one up cheaply when you get there), its handy to have and shows respect depending on the area....
