   With only about a week to spend in NZ I was wondering if anyone could give advice on the best way to get around the South Island. Renting a car? Buses, trains? Would appreciate any info you could supply. thanks.

   If you didn't want to go for the car idea, as you are on your own and maybe want to meet other people, I would recommend the Kiwi Experience, Magic or Stray, I went around NZ with the Kiwi and had a good time, and you get to see alot of places and they stop inbetween places as well allowing you to see alot more of the countryside!
