   Has anyone flown to Hervey Bay or Hamilton Island before??

   Struggling to find flights to these places. I'd like to fly from Sydney to Hervey Bay to check out Fraser Island, then onto Hamiltion Island to see the Whitsundays. Then Cairns hopefully.

   Any advice would be great.

   I don't have a lot of time really so i need to fly so i can see as much as possible.

   One of the best places I have been is Fraser Island.
   Fraser Island is the largest sand island in the world and has the purest breed of dingo (native dog) in Australia. My trip there was one I will not forget and I plan to go again in the near future. You have two choices to go onto the Island:

   1) Rent a 4wd vehicle and drive your self around the Island - permit required. If you decide to rent a 4wd, you have to be at the ferry very early as it is a first on firt serve basis.

   2) Participate on one of the many tours available on the island. They use large 4wd coaches which travel up and down the beaches. You can also camp on the island if you wish.
