    Hi Folks .

I have had a few emails from intending visitors , regarding Prepaid Cellular .

In NZ we have several cellphone networks .

NZ has the nearly World Wide GSM network ( Vodafone NZ )
we also have CDMA and TDMA / AMPS provided by Telecom NZ .

Both Providers do Prepaid Options .

The easy way for visitors is to bring their own 900mhz or Dual / triband
GSM phone , make sure its NOT sim Blocked to your home country / network . You can buy a Prepay Connect pack from Most Vodafone stores and other home appliance retailers in NZ . There is a cost of $NZ 35.00 . A NZ SIM Card , instructions , Phone number and a small credit is preloaded . Credit Valid for 12months ( if not used )
SMS (text) plus international calling is available to many
overseas countries . The Vodafone NZ prepay SIM should also ROAM in Australia and the UK , according to www.vodafone.co.nz

The other Option is GSM roaming from some Home Networks to NZ.
