USA-Cuba?   (3 posts)

I'm planning a backpacking trip this year. I'm going to go to the US, and then parts of Central America, hopefully also including Cuba. If I went to Cuba, would I be allowed back into the US with a Cuban stamp in my pasport?

I understand there are (or were) some problems in this area...

That reminds me of when I visited the Soviet Union as a student ambassador (back when it was still the Soviet Union). They did the exact same thing. They gave you a travel document and stamped that, and then collected it when you left. You couldn't even keep it if you wanted to. No official proof of your visit at all.

The same sort of thing applies all over. No-one can resist the tourist dollar!!
On a trip to from Southern Cyprus to Northern Cyprus, a small peice of stamped paper was put inside our passport, as a reciept of visa payment, then collected as you left - despite all the scaremongering the southern cyprus border gaurds did,
