I am lookin gto travel to spain in March next year for 2 weks. I wonder how I can maximize my stay by visiting the following places in the time period I have.

Madrid, Barcelona, Valencia, Serville and Gibraltar? I would be travelling with my 5 year old.

Please advice on accommodations, fares and activities.

    Africanbee,
Have you decided how you are going to travel to all of those places as they are all a long way apart geographically. If going by public transport then there is a fast line (AVE) between Madrid and Seville. You can fly Spanair between Madrid and all of the destinations mentioned (though I am not sure about Gibraltar).
Ibis Hotels are cheap and I stayed at them in Madrid and Barcelona. Formule 1 are even cheaper there is a description of the rooms on my site at http://www.eurapart.com/formule1.html
They have hotels at Madrid and Barcelona but are on the outskirts of the cities and are best reached by car.
Try www.skyscanner.com to look up quotes for various air fares. Madrid - Barcelona is about £20/$40 each way in March next year.
