We are from Scotland and are considering Hawaii for next year but wondered how long it would be to get there flying from Scotland. Also which airlines fly there from the UK. Which would you recommend as it is such a long flight? Any info woul;d be good. Cheers!

It is a long way and I'm not sure you'll get a direct flight.
Consider having a stop off somewhere along the way?
Maybe use San Fran or LA. Or even Seattle or Vancouver.
Hawaii is a big destination for those that live in North America.
Consider getting the best deal you can to reach a suitable hub such as San Fran and then book your onward flight separately with one of the carriers to Hawaii.
Also consider where in Hawaii you want to go?
Most international connections I imagine go into Honolulu.
But if you wanted to go to Maui for example for the whales then you'd have to do another hop. Whereas from a US based hub you can could fly direct to the Island you want.

    Hi,
We went to Hawaii in May 2002 with Virgin.
The flight was via LAX which took 11 hours then it was antother 5 hours from there to Hawaii (Honolulu) with Hawaiian. Our plane was delayed a couple of hours in LAX but this pleased my boyfriend as it gave us time to eat :o)
It was a very long day. I remember we saw 11pm three times! We woke up at 5am on the Friday and didn't get to sleep until 1pm (UK time) on the Saturday!
Was worth it though, Hawaii was fantastic!
