   A group of 15 kiwis have just completed a 4x4wheel drive crossing of the Simpson desert in Australia. We hired Britz Toyota Landcruisers and left from Alice Springs, travelled in a West to East direction taking 2 weeks to reach Brisbane and covering 3000km. Anyone wanting information?

   Hello,
   We did the Simpson west to east in 1993 and would have to agree with you about the highlights. Although unfortunately the thing that stays with me most are the horrendous number of flies. Adelaide is best visited between September and December because that is when we get the best all round weather. However if you want beach weather then come after Christmas as the water is too cold for swimming before that.
